Sphynx - The facts every owner of a cat breed should know

In 1966 in Canada, was a home birth with short hair and a liter of kittens with a natural mutation pattern baldness. This liter created the ancestors of today's Sphynx, inbreeding and crossing in time. It is interesting to note that the same genetic mutation in a hairless Sphynx is the effect that the same mutation, the curly and sometimes nearly absent in a Devon Rex causes. Often, a Devon Rex is inbred to strengthen the gene pool of the Sphinx. A Sphynx,is sometimes referred to as a Canadian hairless, is not always dark, many have a thin coating of fur. However, a sphinx is the color of his skin, not his "coat". Contrary to popular belief, is not truly hypoallergenic Sphynx cat, especially if you have a hand down.

All Sphynx still produce a certain amount of hair, the usual culprits of allergic reactions. But people with cat allergies find most of them are able to tolerate Sphynx. ThisBreed of cat is very abundant and healthy, despite its appearance almost sick. They are muscular and slightly larger than the average cat, but require special attention because of their lack of a coat.

A Sphynx cat will become colder more easily than average and requires occasional bath, as they have no hair to absorb natural oils from the skin. They are also more susceptible to sunburn and heat stroke because they lack a protective shell. A Sphynx is very Patient and adaptable cat, making them an excellent choice for apartment dwellers and those with children or other pets. You are faithful to their families and includes enjoying the attention and company, who play with them.

With careful selection, will suffer the Sphynx breed by all major medical concerns beyond normal health care.
